“I have found you”

 Alma 36:17-21 “I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, have mercy on me, who am in the gall of bitterness, and am encircled about by the everlasting chains of death.

And now, behold, when I thought this, I could remember my pains no more; yea, I was harrowed up by the memory of my sins no more.

And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!” 

He was eating old manioke and kumala out of a bag.  This guy was like maybe old 50s or early 40s but he was just sitting on the ground and we said "yo" and he was like "yo" and we kept walking.  But then he says "mo fefe" and we replied "Sai ‘aupito. Fefe?" We talked for like 2 seconds more then he goes (translated), "I have too many sin.  Please forgive me missionaries.  Please forgive me, please forgive me.  I'm not the good husband I should be.  Please forgive me."  He then just starts bawling his eyes out, like hard, crying really bad.  I walked over and just sat next to him.  My hoa must’ve been kind of confused but he stayed where he was at.  I sat down with this man and he continues to explain his situation, crying putting his head in his hands while he cried.  Then he looked at me and said in English, "Help me, man. I'm lost," and I said "I have found you."  Then I started explaining the atonement and that through Jesus Christ he can repent and come back to Him and that it’s not too late. He just started crying more and thanked us and then stuck his hand out for a handshake and thanked us again. But I grabbed his hand and pulled him in for a hug, cuz man I think he really needed it. He was still bawling his eyes out and my shoulder gets all wet and everything from his tears and he says sorry again but I just keep telling him, "No, this is my job.  I'm so happy to meet you." And he grabs my hand one more time to shake it and says “thank you” and kisses my hand as well as my hoa’s hand.  I tell him that we'll say a prayer and bless his family then I kissed his hand and told him we’ll see him again soon.

I can tell he takes this job seriously. Vava'u

Been a while since I've made an email I don't even remember the last time I have. Crazy news though is I've been transferred from my beautiful island of Eua. It happened the same exact way that I was transferred from Ha'asini, President calls and says "a boat leaves in 30 minutes. Jump on." I was last comped with Stan Raas who was amazing he got a guitar too and we jammed alot and even tho I was with him for only 2 weeks it was probably some of the best weeks I've had on this mission. Some of you are probably wondering if I’m still alive. Yeah I am and it's good that I leave Eua because to be honest I think I was starting to gain weight. I served faithfully in Eua for around 5 months total, serving in Ha'atu'a, Pangai, and Ohonua. Each place I served I enjoyed greatly. 🍪 Cookies 🍪

  Malo e leilei famili! Sorry I wasn't able to send an email last we had gotten super busy but I've been good. This past week we were able to have a zone conference with  Palesiteni  Kaufusi his wife Sister Kaufusi and 2 office sisters and one AP Elder Teikanoa.  My brother, Elder Foni, had texted me a couple days before saying “Grandson, I'll be there on Wednesday" and come Wednesday he's not here. When I asked  Palesiteni  what had happened he said that there was too much going on in Tonga so he had to leave Foni there. Which was okay because Elder Teikanoa is super dope too. We learned so much from listening to  Palesiteni  and his wife taught us.  Palesiteni  talked alot about "what goes on in the MQ" because what goes on in the MQ will reflect what goes on with your work outside.
