πͺ Cookies πͺ
Malo e leilei famili! Sorry I wasn't able to send an email last we had gotten super busy but I've been good. This past week we were able to have a zone conference with Palesiteni Kaufusi his wife Sister Kaufusi and 2 office sisters and one AP Elder Teikanoa. My brother, Elder Foni, had texted me a couple days before saying “Grandson, I'll be there on Wednesday" and come Wednesday he's not here. When I asked Palesiteni what had happened he said that there was too much going on in Tonga so he had to leave Foni there. Which was okay because Elder Teikanoa is super dope too. We learned so much from listening to Palesiteni and his wife taught us. Palesiteni talked alot about "what goes on in the MQ" because what goes on in the MQ will reflect what goes on with your work outside. We came to a point where Palesiteni had cookies that he was handing out. To be honest I heard about this cookie story from people before. Palesiteni would bring cookies ask who wants one, then he would crumble it up in his hand and then throw it at them. The purpose of the lesson was to show how some of the missionaries are “feeding the gospel” to investigators. Depending on how “bad” the zone is depends on how hard he will throw the cookiesπ€£. So it came time where he grabs the cookies and says, "well guys I have some lovely cookies here, who wants one?" I didn't raise my hand cuz I really wasn’t trying to get pummeled in the face with a sugar cookie at 11 in the morning but he was like, "C’mon guys, cookies. No one wants one?" I was sitting at the front and Palesiteni looks at me with one cookie in his hand and, not even lying bruh but, I flinched. In my head I was thinking, "Palesiteni please don't throw it that hard at me." Then one of the other sisters raised their hand for a cookie. But he just simply tossed it. It was hilarious to me becuase he tossed it and it like explodes on the table and the sister just sits there in defeat.π€£π€£ He starts just tossing cookies everywhere which meant that he wasn't too angry at us so I was calm now. But I really liked this analogy. We as missionaries are required to find ways to change little bits and pieces of our lessons so that the laumalie can accept it better, understand it easier. When teaching the laumalie they should want to continue to take the lessons we teach, not wonder what the heck we we are talking about. After the lesson he grabs a cookie places it nicely on a napkin and slides it to the sister and says, "Here you go sister. Have a cookie." We had alot of great laughs during the zone conference and I have to say it was the best zone conference I've been to even though I have only been to one.
Sorry again for the late email and the shortness of the email but we have been trying our best to be out the house and be busy. I will see you all next week. Ofa lahi atu!
