Week 15: The Lord’s Errand

Image
Had a slow start to the week but soon a sudden change of pace. My week started off like every other week… we were doing the same things like teaching seminary and all that. I was honestly having a slow mind with everything like, "man we’re doing the same thing everyday." My hoa had now been called to be the new Zone Leader for the Hahake zone which is nice because now we have a car and I was happy because that would mean we were going to get super busy. Thursday night  we went to seminary class and did the usual. There has only been one student showing up and sometimes not everyday but he still comes. I struggled a little bit with my teaching and after the lesson was all done I just walked home in silence. When we got home I got ready for bed and I said a prayer real quick and asked Heavenly Father, "If you see fit I would like a transfer. If you think I need to stay here then I will. But I would like to be transfered if that is okay." I knocked out but I kept wakin...

Good to talk to you again family! This past week was full of literally just rain so we stayed inside alot but I still learned alot. For a majority of the time we stayed inside, I tried to find things to do. Yes reading the scriptures is amazing but I can only read it for so long๐Ÿ˜‚. One of the things I've been doing is practicing guitar. I'm super thankful to Heavenly Father for blessing me with that talent. One of the things I did was find a bunch of songs and listen to them and then play them on the guitar.  I haven't mastered it yet, but I am able to play most songs by ear.  Just like reading scriptures, I can only play guitar for so long. I was looking through the gospel library and I found the "Saints" book. I recommend you all read it. There are 3 books in the series but I only read the first one and I was able to finish it the same week. In the book it talks alot of Joseph Smith and what he did to help bring forth the, "Great and marvelous work" ...

Week 13: Kataki pe

Hello again family. We had about another week of not too much going on but still a good week of working. The work has definitely slowed down and there isn't really too much that we can do right now. Most of our laumalies come from the ward members and we have walked our entire village and the next village over and over and over again, so trying to find work is a little tough. Although finding work is tough there still is work to be done (thank goodness bruh  ). So currently at the moment me and my hoa are seminary teachers for the seminary class in Lavengatonga. I enjoy it, honestly, because it helps me get better with teaching, speaking Tongan, and getting comfortable with talking to more than 1 person in a single setting. There's only bout 4 kau ako (students) but even then our class is still strong. My Tongan really honestly just has its ups and downs, it's good days and bad days. On one specific day I was speaking to my barber in Tongan and I told him I was still learni...

Week 12: Looney Tunes

Malo etau lava famili!  This week has been a good and productive week. Not only productive but hot and tiring.  Since I won't be transferring, which I honestly don't care at all cuz I love this place, we've decided to focus working on Lavengatonga. On about Wednesday we headed to Lavengatonga to input names into our PMG (Preach My Gospel) app.  We found one of the other kaingalotu (church congregation members) in a store just talking to the palesteni fkkolo's wife or branch president's wife. We asked her where the other houses were of the other kaingalotu so that we could put their names in the PMG, but she only gave us 3 other houses.  We asked if that was it and she said yes. We already knew that the member attendance in Lavengatonga was small but we didn't know it was this small. I heard that there were alot of vaivai siasi or less active members but I wasn't too sure. We did our vilo (rounds) around Lavengatonga and tried to find the houses that she h...
